SonShine Preschool students entertained friends and family members during a Christmas program on December 16 at First Lutheran Church.

Performing in front of a crowd of about 120 people, the preschoolers sang songs, such as “Away in a Manger,”
“J-E-S-U-S,” “Up on the Housetop,” “The Cow in the Barn” and “Jingle Bells.” During “Jingle Bells,” some students played homemade jingle bell instruments and others played music on their hand bells. Teacher Kris Fuchs said it was the debut of the SonShine Hand Bell Choir.

After the preschoolers were done with their program, they were presented with a book about the first Christmas. The books were provided by the SonShine Booster Club.

The fun didn’t end after the show, though, as the students held a birthday party for Jesus, complete with cake and punch, Fuchs said.
