I grew up on a dairy farm near Hay Springs, Nebraska, and received my seminary training at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.  I was led into the parish ministry by a passion for reaching unbelievers with the gospel of Jesus, and was been involved in establishing new congregations at Gardner and Louisburg, Kansas. I previously served as pastor at Elkhart/Hugoton, Kensington, and Gardner, all in Kansas.

During my ministry at Paola I've been pleased to see a revitalization of spirituality and increased involvement by young people in the congregation.  I'm especially pleased that people of the congregation are willing to try anything that might be new or different, as long as they believe it will help others to know Jesus as their Savior.

I have two adult sons from a previous marriage, and my wife, Arlene, has four adult children from a previous marriage.  She has lived most of her life in the Gardner and Overland Park, Kansas, area.

I enjoy woodworking and building furniture.  I'm also a private pilot, have built two aircraft, and am currently working on a third.

I would invite you to contact me if you have further questions about First Lutheran.

Sincerely,

Pastor Jerry Peck
