What if I don’t know anyone?
That’s okay! One of the reasons for small groups is to develop friendships that can’t happen on just
Sunday morning.
I’m so busy during the week that I don’t have time for anything else.
A challenge for all of us-but you’re very welcome to just try it for a week or two, and if it doesn’t work, there’s never an obligation.
But I don’t know much about the Bible.
Great! Our studies are designed interesting and relevant to all people regardless of background.
What if I don’t want to join in the discussion?
Absolutely no problem. You choose whatever participation feels right for you.
These groups have been meeting for awhile. Should I wait for a new one?
We always welcome new people. New groups form periodically but existing groups always have an extra chair.
A church is more than just a building that opens on Sundays - it's a community of believers. We realize that it's hard to have an an authentic relationship with someone you just see in passing for a few minutes before or after worship services once a week. That’s why Small Groups are so important at First Lutheran.
We offer a variety of groups meeting at various times during the week: weekend, weekday; mornings and evenings. They offer a place to build authentic relationships in a personal, comfortable environment while discussing spiritual truth and growth.
Four adult groups meeting during our Family Education Hour on Sunday mornings.
Adult Class 1 - Dean Lovig
"Learn to Worship With All Your Heart" - Wayne & DeeYoung
"God is Closer Than You Think" - Judy Carlson
"Beginner Bible Study" - Pastor Peck
Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers. Sunday School classes are available for your older children.
A men's group meets at 6AM on Wednesdays and other groups meeting in homes during the week. Contact the church by phone 294-3476 or e-mail for details on current groups.
For seniors, we offer a variety of activities including SCAN (Senior Care Angel Network). SCAN consists of brothers and sisters in Christ ages 60 and over, dedicated to enriching both the physical and spiritual lives of those in their "golden years" through fellowship and service.
