Letter of the Week: Ee
An Encouraging Word From Scripture……But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NIV)
Elephants and Eggs!
Since we skipped letter Ee last week, we will be going back and learning this very important letter this week.
You may be wondering what elephants and eggs have in common. Well, not much other than something that will definitely pertain to SonShine kiddos this week—they both begin with the letter “Ee”! We have lots of fun activities planned for this week. Some of those activities are: an elephant or egg art project, plastic egg color sorting, egg counting and many other fun and educational activities.
One of the really fun things we will be doing this week is reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Our snack on Wednesday and Thursday will be….you guessed it…..green eggs and ham! At first some of the kids may say they don’t like green eggs and ham just like the character in the book, but what they typically find out is that just like him, they DO like green eggs and ham! It is always fun to do this activity! We are looking forward to a very “eggciting” week!
Please review letters A-F with your child at the grocery store, soccer, flag football, grandma’s house or wherever this week may find you!
Monday and Tuesday: String Cheese and Milk
Wednesday am: Green Eggs and Ham and Milk
Wednesday pm: Green Eggs and Ham and Milk and Brantley’s Birthday Treats
Thursday: Green Eggs and Ham and Milk
Friday: No Preschool—Fall Break
SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDER
The October books have been ordered! They should be here toward the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Please watch backpacks for the books. As always, if you prefer that your child does not see the books, please let us know and we will put them in a bag to hand it directly to whomever drops off or picks up your child.
Preschool proofs were sent home last week. If you wish to order pictures, please return the order form and payment no later than this Wednesday, October 16.
We have been working on writing names at preschool. Please work with your child on writing his/her name at home as well. Thanks!
A FRIENDLY REMINDER
There are already quite a few germ bugs floating around. If your child has been sick, please don’t send him/her back to preschool until he/she has been fever- free for 24 hours and has not vomited for 24 hours. Thank you so much for your cooperation with this.
ANOTHER FRIENDLY REMINDER
Please remember that preschool is finished each day at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm. We appreciate your promptness in picking up your child. Thank you!
The contact information directory is still in process. It will be sent home later this week or early next week.
PLEASE WORK WITH YOUR CHILD AT HOME......
Since it is that time of year when jackets and coats are worn more regularly, please work with your child to put his/her jacket on. We are always happy to help button and zip. However, it is helpful if the kids can put on their own jackets. Thanks so much!
SOCIAL MEDIA REMINDER
It is the time of year when we do lots of field trips, programs, etc. Please respect other families' privacy when posting pictures, etc. on social media. Always get parental permission before posting children other than your own. Thanks for your cooperation.
There is NO PRESCHOOL this Friday, October 19 for Fall Break. We will have preschool every other day this week, even though the public schools are not in session on Monday and Thursday.
