Letter of the Week: Qq
Cozy Quilts and Shapes!
Since the M/W/F classes missed a day of preschool due to weather last week, we are going to finish up a few activities having to do with penguins and letter Pp.
In addition, this week, we get to do some fun activities focusing on quilts! How timely this is since the weather has turned colder again and there is nothing cozier than a warm quilt to snuggle under when it is cold! It also is nice that we can tie in letter Q with this fun theme! Each class will make a special quilt art project. Along with the quilt theme this week, we will be reviewing shapes since many quilts are made not only with squares, but with all kinds of shapes. We have a bunch of shape cookie cutters with which the children will be able to practice recognizing and matching shapes. We will be doing some other winter activities as well.
This is “shaping” up to be a fantastic week!!
Monday: Penguin Food (Goldfish Crackers) and Fruit Juice
Tuesday and Wednesday: Pears and Milk
Thursday and Friday: Quesadillas (Flour Tortillas and Cheese) and Fruit Juice
A FRIENDLY REMINDER ABOUT TUITION POLICY
Please remember that tuition is due on the 1st of the month and is late after the 5th. Please make every effort to pay by the 1st and if you pay after the 5th, please add the $10 late fee, even if it is the 11th. Tuition is actually due on the 1st. We give you a grace period as a courtesy. Thank you!
That being said, February tuition is due on Saturday, February1. However, since the 1st is on a Saturday, please either pay the Friday before or by Monday, Feb. 4.
Since we are talking about cozy quilts and other wintery topics this week, we thought it would be fun to wear our pajamas to preschool on Wednesday and Thursday, January 29 and 30. Your child may bring ONE stuffed animal and/or a favorite blanket. However, please have your child wear regular shoes that day. Thanks so much!
BACKPACKS AND FOLDERS
Thank you to all the kiddos who consistently bring their backpacks and folders to preschool. It really helps in sending things home. We understand that a backpack and/or folder can occasionally be forgotten, but please send those items most days when your child attends preschool. Thank you so much!
SONSHINE ILLNESS POLICY
There have been a lot of “bugs” going around lately and we want to remind everyone of our policy regarding illness. Please do not send your child to preschool if he/she has vomited within the 24 hours prior to the start of preschool. Your child must also be fever-free for 24 hours in order for him/her to attend preschool. This is very important for your child’s comfort and health as well as the health of the other children in the class. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
Our Valentine parties will be on Wednesday and Thursday, February 12 and 13. We ask that each of the children create a box in which to collect their valentine cards. This can be as fancy or simple as you like. It is always fun to see what the kids come up with for their boxes. We still have several weeks before our party, but we wanted to give you ample time to think about this.
If you signed up to bring something for the party, we will send home a reminder with next week’s newsletter.
PRESCHOOL MAKE-UP DAY
With all of the snow days we have had for the M/W/F classes, we will be making up a day by coming to preschool on the designated make up day in May If there are 3 more snow days (we hope not! 😊), then another make-up day will be scheduled to be determined at the time.
Wednesday and Thursday, February 12 and 13 –Valentine Parties
Monday, February 17 – NO PRESCHOOL in observance of President’s Day
